I have the demo and I've been playing one level in particular. UK Rally #8 as seen on the demo. I plan on purchasing the game after my semester is done because the outcomes could be negative if I do otherwise.
Here is my best time for:
UK Rally EVENT 8
Stock 206 DEMO car
Tweaked suspension & tires
AVG Speed: 63 MPH
Top Speed: 89 MPH
Best time: 3:01.83
Minimal cut through and kept almost entirely on the road.
What are your guy's time on demo levels?

2:44 seams impossible unless you have a heavily modified 206.

you need to really really push your luck to get a really good time.
for example, i nearly got myself down to 3:05. wouldve been a fair bit quicker with better racing line round corners etc. etc. but was concentrating on the ghost car which was just in front (unfortunately, id crashed into a stone a tiny bit before the end so dropped tons of seconds) a little bit too much, running along the side of the track and smashed straight into possibly the last stone on the track. My rear flipped straight over my front and landed me literally 2 metres away from the finish line....
if only id had that bit more momentum i mightve made it... though admittedly, id probably also be kind of dead.
need to get myself a control pad that will work on intel.

I think you can manage just fine with the keyboard.
You can turn the ghost car off BTW and just go off of the time between each section.
I'm mastering the 3 levels on the demo. I can't for the love of god beat any of my already set times.

I have managed to open all the tracks and cars in the game. Some of the Group B cars are a handful with a good racing setup and a wheel. But man is it fun!
Good luck with your times and most of all, have fun!

I know I can get it down about 2:56 if I do EVERYTHING perfect...but it's gonna take me a lot of tries.
Wow...

Just a few points for everyone.
The demo and the full game are exactly the same so you can play on either the full game or the demo and the challenge is the same. Setup is key to getting a good time on all stages I had a quick go to check demo v.s. Full game and I got the following time.
UK Rally EVENT 8
Stock 206 car
Service Area On - (Medium Gravel Tyres, -1 Ride Height, +1 Springs, +1 Steering, -1 Gearbox and the rest standard)
AVG Speed: 66 MPH
Top Speed: 92 MPH
Best time: 2:54.67
Splits 51.87 - 1:33.75 - 2:16.55 - 2:54.67
I made quite a few mistakes on apex's so I think if you cut corners to the max you could snip quite a few seconds off this time. The german time of 2:44 is possible I think if you cut all the corners perfectly and get very very lucky.

I finally decided to go with RWD car. It's completely different driving, very hard to control. I've noticed that damage to RWD tires occurs much faster than AWD. My times are also at least 1 min longer than my AWD records. RWD is different league.

I know I can get it down by another 2 seconds if I try really hard. I've literally become an expert @ this level. I woke up today thinking about the twists and turns of the level and how to make my time better. This is following the road, no cheap cuts either.
