Playdead recently announced work on a Mac version of its puzzle based platforming adventure, LIMBO. The game puts players in the role of a boy on a journey of exploration, uncertain of his sister's fate, or his own. LIMBO features a "hauntingly beautiful" art style, Trial by Death puzzle solving, and unique 2D sidescrolling puzzle solving gameplay.

An Independent Games Festival award-winning title, LIMBO is unique single player 2D Puzzle-Platform/Side-scrolling game. Dreamlike and created entirely in black and white, LIMBO has often been spoken of in terms of game art. Yet while hauntingly beautiful, it is also philosophically provocative. The game features a gameplay mechanic that has come to be known as "Trial by Death" in which the player must die in-game in order to discover the solutions to the puzzles set before him. In the event of this, the player spawns at the last save point and must use what he has learned if he hopes to find his sister and get closure on the events set before him.
Playdead plans to release LIMBO for Macs before the end of the year. Learn more about the game at the link below.

Wow, I was impressed when I first saw video of this game... I didn't think it would see light of day on OS X. Go figure.

Reminds me more of Trine for some reason.

Between this, Trine 2, The Drox Operative, Torchlight 2, The Legend of Grimrock, and the Avernum remake I could survive on the Indie scene alone for the next year if I wanted to! Some pretty impressive stuff from the little guys coming!

Hmm.. strange. Because it's a platform game?
Not much to do with Trine except for that.

I can say it's an amazing game with great animation, physics, graphics, music and sound effects that creates a thrilling atmosphere. I'm playing it right now on PS3. Doesn't seem to be that long, though.

Great to see it's coming to Mac OS X. Maybe iOS eventually too, then?

I guess it's because of all the manipulation of objects and physics-based stuff. Whatever the case it looks fantastic and I'll definitely be getting it.

Fantastic!  I've played this a little on Windows and was sad that another great game was not available on the Mac.... I generally hate games where I die all the time but like it says above, it's key here - and fun too. Each new cruel death had me laughing and at the same time kind of amazed they put that in there.... I can't wait to play this on my Mac and finish the adventure.
