Impressive article. Comprehensive guides are very hard to write, particularly if you try to keep it up to date.

Thanks, that guide is labor of love. I wrote a blog post in 2013 detailing Mac Pro upgrade ideas and it drove a bit of traffic my semi-professional blog. Then when I bought a Mac Pro 5,1 over a year ago to return my decade old 3,, I realized how bad my original guide started to edit it but then just started from scratch. It's easily the most effort I've put into writing.
Hopefully the few Mac gamers with Mac Pros out there find it useful. I don't consider myself much of a gamer but I do have Windows installed on my Mac Pro and occasionally play games on it. I feel like that's the been the reality of Mac gaming for the past decade. Last Mac game I recall playing is Tomb Raider (the reboot).

Because of it I am going to keep my eye on the local classifieds and see if I can pick up a Mac Pro 4,1 or 5,1 for somewhat cheap and then upgrade it into a Mojave (and hopefully Catalina) compatible machine.
