The July 25th blog post was very recently edited to add " .. except for Mac, which is planned to be released July 2nd".

I know what you are thinking. But they couldn't just put out a new announcement, or respond to the Mac gamers who opened support tickets, or asked on Tiwtter or in the forum. No, that would be too easy! They actually traveled BACK IN TIME to edit the July 25th blog post.

They have demonstrated just how much Mac gamers mean to them.

I always play Deus Ex with minimal augs, including no x-ray vision and no minimap. I find the game more challenging and fun that way. I do use Cloak, though.
That's hardcore. I'm impressed! I rely on both of those to sneak around. Do you use headphones at least?
Also, are you trying to be non-lethal?

I avoid Cloak mostly, because it is a battery hog. But I recently learned that it uses less energy if you stand still, so maybe I'll play with it some more.

Working my way through Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - as usual I explore and sneak compulsively so it takes a really long time. Fun though!

My other weakness is sticking with the most basic augmentations from the previous game - haven't gotten into the new ones at all. Maybe I'll try a second playthrough later using a more exotic build.

You should also know that macOS doesn't appear to fully support UW screens. It has gotten a tad better with Big Sur, but we are still not there yet. They are useable though.
Specifics (or a link)? What problems should I expect?

I don't remember delays, but there probably were. Or if not delays, extra porting expense. Extra testing, looking for bugs that were found only on one architecture or the other. I'm sure there was a sigh of relief when the transition was winding down and they could finally go Intel-only.
