These are the sources I've used to create the first version of this list:
- Aspyr Support website:
https://support.aspy...your-Mac-alert-
- Games I've got currently installed on my own Mac:
To check compatibility perform these actions:
- Click on the Apple menu;
- Click on About This Mac;
- Click on System Report...;
- Click on Applications (under Software);
- Check the column on the right that says 64-Bit.
Of course these two sources gave me only a very short list, so if you'd check the games you've currently got installed on your Mac and post your results here I'll update this list. Of course moderators and administrators can also update the list.
Games that currently do support 64-bit:
- Civilization: Beyond Earth
- Civilization VI
- Jade Empire: Special Edition
- Layers of Fear
- Life is Strange
- Mafia III
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords

Didn't realize the pulled it for HotS. HotS, Diablo III, SC2, and WoW are the only games that need metal I would argue. Hopefully it returns for HotS and makes it to Diablo 3. Hearthstone is about as intensive a web browser game so it can sit on Unity. Hopefully the older games make it over to 64 bit.

Speaking of the games being 32bit ... what about clients?
Steam is currently only 32bit as well.
The MacGameStore App has a 64bit version ready, we are just adding more features to it to make it a worthwhile release.
Uplay ... well, they bailed on mac proper, so I'm unsure?
Origin is still 32bit.
Telltale finally gave up on their stupid client and they are all now Steam only.
If you do big fish games, their client is still 1980's 8bit.

Of course Telltale made a game client, didn't even know about that.
Isn't steam still 32 bit on windows too?
Uplay isnt even on mac i think, they used to have their old Ubisoft game launcher but they stopped supporting their games years ago.
Origin isnt much of a loss, I honestly dont know why that even has a mac client. The Sims I guess?

Origin: Sims yes.
Uplay: Whats odd is... there is a 'key' we supply for the splinter cell conviction game, which is "Mac Activation Only on Uplay" ... the game won't show up on PC Uplay if you try entering the code on the PC (it even errors). So if there is no mac uplay client, then how in the heck does one activate/install/play that game ! LOL.... hmm... maybe we need to stop selling that game

Since one person used those forums once a month, we removed it since the License ran out, and the old code was dangerous for security, and updating the old code was going to be expensive and time consuming. So its gone for good.

Forgot about GOG Galaxy. But as you said... on windows its no big deal because windows 'just keeps playing/running stuff' ... unlike Mac OSX where each monthly update kills off more apps you have, forcing you to buy more apps and popsnizzle. The whole 64bit only craze is an apple induced hysteria. PC people don't care unless the app would actually greatly benefit from it.

It did require a bit of work, though. Had to purge some old Quicklook plugins to get Quicklookd 32 to go away, and some hidden startup items.

Now they just need to fix this:

Funny, they are blury even in non-retina. They are just all around crappy icons there. Coupled with the blue squares under 'notifications' 'messages' and 'username' in the main window upper-right ... their UI still looks halfassed as always.

I like how the notification icon is not properly centered, and it will move up for some reason on hover (it behaves properly on Windows). But the only thing that really irks me is the Windows-style window icons.
Maybe I'm blind, but on retina, the only blurriness I've noticed was in the first beta, when the new UI would not render at retina resolution, but they fixed that.
I've created a (mostly) macOS-specific Steam UI bug thread here. Not that Valve will read it. Can't believe they don't have a proper bug tracking system. Well, I can believe it.

Oh I know!!! My brother n I have run into a really annoying-as-heck bug, and cannot find anyway to inform them about it. And then all the other bugs. And then I saw this monster comprehensive thread on their forums (which excluded the annoying bug we ran into lol)... and valve is like... 'meh'.
Well, the nice thing about the new steam 'look' is... it is giving us at MGS/WGS a wider window of 'doing better' for our own new redesign
