If you haven't heard it already, Borderlands is going to be turned into a movie.

With Eli Roth as director, the guy who wrote "Chernobyl" as writer, and Cate Blanchett as Lilith…

Blanchett is way too old IMHO.

And are they doing this as a live action or a CGI with motion capture?

No word on that so far.

Maybe Cate Blanchett will play a Lilith as she looks back on her life as a vault hunter.

I think they will have to have CGI in this if only for the absolute carnage and the creatures... not to mention the epic and unearthly landscapes.  Marcus has stated that if you don't like the movie there will be no refunds, so you might want to rent it rather than see it in a theater.

I don't care about Borderlands that much (only played Tales, which I liked; the FPS games don't interest me) but the Chernobyl writer piques my interest. And if they rotoscope this, it could look quite cool.

Okay, the casting of that movie really is something...

Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis.

Kevin Hart as... Roland????

Jack Black as Claptrap.

Unless they have a small physical robot, with Jack Black inside it, I won't see it.

Sounds like a really 'off' cast so far. Did the casting director even play/see the games?
