I compared three 2010 MacBook Pros running four 3D accelerated games:
The 15" model with 2.53GHz Core i5 and GeForce GT 330M with 256M VRAM.
The 17" model with 2.53GHz Core i5 and GeForce GT 330M with 512M VRAM.
The 15" model with 2.66GHz Core i7 and GeForce GT 330M with 512M VRAM.
Here's my test results so far:
THE BOTTOM LINE: Unless you are running your 3D accelerated game on an external 30" Cinema display at 2560x1600, max quality settings, and 4X Anti-Aliasing, having 512MB of VRAM gives you no advantage over the MacBook Pro with 256MB of VRAM.
