In the interest of full disclosure, I should have said that my brother-in-law works for Epic in Cary, so, there you go. :)

macdude, Steam is loaded with useful features while Epic has basically none besides a barebones friends list:

This list isn't even complete (like, achievements). So that explains why some people are angry about these exclusivities.

Other stores/launchers aren't much better than Epic features wise, BTW (Origin, Uplay, GOG Galaxy, Bethesda, Mac App Store...).

And the Epic store/service is newer than Steam is. Steam started in 2003, and only came to the Mac platform in 2010, so I do give Epic some benefit of the doubt here for supporting macOS out of the gate. It will either get better or it won't. They're kind of getting a crash course in game hosting and matchmaking with Fortnite, so we'll see what lessons they learn from that.

I don't care about seeing pop-ups for achievements in a game I'm playing. It doesn't add an incredible amount of value to games that I play on Steam (going through Rise of the Tomb Raider now).

Item trading? Cards, you mean? Or hats in Team Fortress? It seems silly to me, and I've never done either.

And, remember how long it took Valve to even port Half-Life to macOS? Launched for Windows in 1998, it just came to the Mac platform in 2013! I think many of us forget just how recently that happened! So, I say all that to say this: Both Valve and Epic have had stumbles and missteps regarding their respective stores and services, and likely will yet have some doozies still to come. I don't think that Epic has to fail in order for Steam to succeed, or vice-versa.

There's room for both.

I'm wondering if Feral is planning anything with regard to the "handsome edition" upgrade to Borderlands GOTY Edition?

Ah, okay. It's been awhile since I used the Epic launcher (since they axed the new UT) and I dont' think they had a friend list back then. At least not in the launcher (there was something like that in-game).

And you can import your Steam friends list into the Epic one.

And since when have they axed the new UT? I still play it.
