Heh, gotta love how MS likes to 'turn all the garbage on by default' ... I'm amazed they turned this one on, but then, I'm not amazed. Most people would not 'opt in' if asked during install, so in order for it to be useful, they just blast it on for everyone and only the knowledgable will know to turn it off. Kind of a shrewd move.

I think all Windows tends to be pretty open on the wifi by default.... again, too many things turned on by default, with very little in way of security turned up.

I just use Spybot Anti-Beacon. It shuts all of that off permanently.

I don't mind and opt in for all Windows call home. I think people are just a bit too paranoid. Google already knows a LOT LOT more about me than Microsoft will ever anyways.

I use Little Snitch and Google is by far the biggest offender of wanting in on everything you do and see. I block everything google I can, which is a LOT.

Google is tied with Microsoft for being an assclown with the spying. Only company worse these days is Fakebook.
I really hope DuckDuckGo is able to improve their algorithm more, I'd love to switch over. They're WAY better than they used to be, but still deliver a lot less useful results than Google.

That's what I was using. I took a blind test comparing Bing to Google searches and Bing won 4 out of 5 searches on average, so I switched from Google about 5 years ago. Let's see how this duk go works my disappoint.
