I couldn't let too much time pass with contributing to the forums; so, how do you like your bacon cooked? I wanted to create a poll, but there are just too many combinations of answers. BTW, I'm talking about what Americans refer to as bacon (Picture).
  • Overall: raw, rare, medium, well, burnt, yuk - I don't like bacon!, what is bacon?, other
  • Fat: chewy, firm, crisp, charcoal, absent, other
  • Meat: chewy, firm, crisp, charcoal, absent, other
On a more personal note, are there any parents of teenagers out there? The past 7 days have been very long, tiring, and stressful. I'll post a blog entry with details when the police decide whether or not to charge my son.

welcome back!

very well, but not quite burnt
absent
firm

english bacon isnt as long or as fatted as the bacon in that picture... I think ours is better... Perhaps you should do a poll:
How do you like your eggs in the morning?
a)sunny side up
b)scrambled
c)salmonela filled and raw
d)etc. etc.
...
h) Ilike mine with a kiss

good to hear your kid is well behaved, and I hope that hes learnt his lesson... Myself? im a good boy :)

I don't like my bacon too crispy.  Cooked, but still a little soft and chewy.

Crispy. When I pick it up it should be a "straight line" and not flop about. Ditto french fries.

I like my bacon in state-of-the-art squad cars to better help them keep rabble such as yourself off the streets.  Now get your shiny white bee-yew-tocks back into the Marathon IV thread!

I like it crispy. Not so crispy that it crumbles, but I like most of the fat cooked away.

So crispy that you could almost eat it like a chip.

Even if it isn't bacon is soooo gooooood!

Mmmm... bacon... everything should come wrapped in it.

Even bacon.

Careful what you ask for.  The bacon that wraps the bacon will itself be wrapped in bacon ad infinitum.  Eventually all time and space will be consumed by bacon.  I put up a terrific fight against my wife for space in the closet.  I'll be damned if I let it become filled with bacon!

But it's my dream universe!.. it also may be the universe's only hope against unending expansion after the Big Bang. If enough Bacon Singularities form, the universe may contract again, coalescing into the makings of one Bacony Bang to start things anew.

'Course, the space-time continuum is less important than keeping your closet bacon-free... :whistling:

I like bacon in my stomach.  I had some bacon wrapped bacon a few weeks ago.  It wa everything you would expect the perfect meal to be, and more.  I then had bacon wrapped spam and bacon wrapped Porteguese sausage.  Then my head exploded.  Twas a good day...

I've always hated liver.  When I lived in the Philippines we had a Filipino cook who ground up liver, made a round patty out of it and wrapped it in bacon.  It was one of my favorite dishes of that era.  Never had it since.

I can't see myself dabbling in livers unless it's what I happen to pull out of a body cavity after a patented BC Gut Punch.  Taste testing a thousand liver recipes without a clue as to the original ingredients is not my idea of concluding a life of wanton waste, debauchery and gluttonous excess.

I ate a few slices of burned frozen pizza last night (don't ask).  The scorched pepperoni slices kind of tasted like well-done bacon for some reason...

You might discover your own signature bacon recipe. Experiment!

Quote

Experiment - Cole Porter
Before you leave these portals
To meet less fortunate mortals,
There's just one final message
I would give to you.
You all have learned reliance
On the sacred teachings of science,
So I hope, through life, you never will decline
In spite of philistine
Defiance
To do what all good scientists do.

Experiment.
Make it your motto day and night.
Experiment
And it will lead you to the light.
The apple on the top of the tree
Is never too high to achieve,
So take an example from Eve,
Experiment.
Be curious,
Though interfering friends may frown.
Get furious
At each attempt to hold you down.
If this advice you always employ
The future can offer you infinite joy
And merriment,
Experiment
And you'll see
