Of course nothing is 100% sure, as plans can always change, but the way it's looking right now it seems as if macOS Mojave, which will be released this fall, will be the last version of macOS to support 32-bit apps, so the version of macOS that'll be released in fall 2019 will be the first operating system for Macs that will be 64-bit only. I thought it'd be a good idea to make a topic where we can see what games do support 64-bit and what games are still 32-bit.

These are the sources I've used to create the first version of this list:
- Aspyr Support website:
https://support.aspy...your-Mac-alert-
- Games I've got currently installed on my own Mac:
To check compatibility perform these actions:
- Click on the Apple menu;
- Click on About This Mac;
- Click on System Report...;
- Click on Applications (under Software);
- Check the column on the right that says 64-Bit.

Of course these two sources gave me only a very short list, so if you'd check the games you've currently got installed on your Mac and post your results here I'll update this list. Of course moderators and administrators can also update the list.

Games that currently do support 64-bit:
- Civilization: Beyond Earth
- Civilization VI
- Jade Empire: Special Edition
- Layers of Fear
- Life is Strange
- Mafia III
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords

Games that currently do not support 64-bit:
- BioShock Infinite
- Borderlands 2
- Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!
- Call of Duty
- Call of Duty 2
- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
- Call of Duty: Black Ops
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
- Civilization IV
- Civilization IV: Colonization
- Civilization V
- Command & Conquer™: Generals Deluxe Edition
- Company of Heroes Complete: Campaign Edition
- Doom 3
- Duke Nukem Forever
- Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered
- Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions (No longer available for sale)
- Homeworld Remastered Collection
- Mafia II: Director's Cut
- Prey
- Quake 4
- RAGE
- RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum
- Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun
- SimCity 4: Deluxe Edition
- SimCity: Complete Edition
- Star Wars: Empire at War
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
- Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
- Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
- The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition
- The Sims 2: Castaway Stories
- The Sims 2: Life Stories
- The Sims 2: Pet Stories
- The Sims 2: Super Collection
- Tomb Raider: Anniversary
- Tomb Raider II

IMO it's a bit early to do this as I think most of the Aspyr/Feral games have a good chance of being updated, but sure, why not:

No:
Diablo III
Crossover (not a game, but it's related, and it will be updated according to the devs)
Grim Fandango
Incredipede
Nanosaur 2
Pangea Arcade
Prey
Starcraft II
The Ur-Quan Masters (Star Control II)
The Witcher Adventure Game
Tropico 3 Gold
Undertale
All Paradox Clausewitz engine games (Stellaris, EU4, CK2, etc)

Yes:
Shadowrun Hong Kong (and presumably the other two)
Darkest Dungeon
Human Resource Machine
Infinifactory
Kentucky Route Zero
King's Bounty: The Legend (the game has other issues though)
Jazzpunk
Tharsis
This War of Mine
TIS-100
Torchlight II
Twilight Struggle

Nah, Apple was very unambigious about that during the WWDC: Mojave will be the last version of macOS to run 32 bit apps.

I expect that Blizzard's games will get updated. Blizzard is even supporting Metal in most of their Mac games, so I would think 64 bit support should be pretty trivial for them to add.

Most of them? WoW and StarCraft 2 do. Heroes of the Storm removed the Metal renderer months ago. Hearthstone runs as far as I know still on an old version of the Unity engine which does not support Metal for Mac. And StarCraft Classic/Remastered, Diablo II, Diablo III, and WarCraft III all run on OpenGL.

Didn't realize the pulled it for HotS. HotS, Diablo III, SC2, and WoW are the only games that need metal I would argue. Hopefully it returns for HotS and makes it to Diablo 3. Hearthstone is about as intensive a web browser game so it can sit on Unity. Hopefully the older games make it over to 64 bit.

Given I have a disk dedicated to my games and so never really uninstall them it's probably worth me adding to this topic.

It would be great if someone can perhaps pin a post and combine all the data - also update when/if any patches arrive?

Anyway this is the list from System Report that are 32-bit and shows the scale of the issue for me. Note there might be the odd WINE wrapper in here that I missed:

Speaking of the games being 32bit ... what about clients?

Steam is currently only 32bit as well.

The MacGameStore App has a 64bit version ready, we are just adding more features to it to make it a worthwhile release.

Uplay ... well, they bailed on mac proper, so I'm unsure?

Origin is still 32bit.

Telltale finally gave up on their stupid client and they are all now Steam only.

If you do big fish games, their client is still 1980's 8bit.

Of course Telltale made a game client, didn't even know about that.

Isn't steam still 32 bit on windows too?

Uplay isnt even on mac i think, they used to have their old Ubisoft game launcher but they stopped supporting their games years ago.

Origin isnt much of a loss, I honestly dont know why that even has a mac client. The Sims I guess?

Steam is partially 64-bit. I’m sure it will get updated, maybe when the UI update is complete. Not so confident with Origin as the few Mac games that are left are probably 32-bit.

Indeed. As well as GOG Galaxy, Origin and Uplay, and countless other game related apps (Razer Synapse, Overwolf, Discord...). Not a big deal, though, it's not as if these apps would benefit from being 64 bit.

Origin: Sims yes.

Uplay: Whats odd is... there is a 'key' we supply for the splinter cell conviction game, which is "Mac Activation Only on Uplay" ... the game won't show up on PC Uplay if you try entering the code on the PC (it even errors). So if there is no mac uplay client, then how in the heck does one activate/install/play that game ! LOL.... hmm... maybe we need to stop selling that game ;)

Since one person used those forums once a month, we removed it since the License ran out, and the old code was dangerous for security, and updating the old code was going to be expensive and time consuming. So its gone for good.

Forgot about GOG Galaxy. But as you said... on windows its no big deal because windows 'just keeps playing/running stuff' ... unlike Mac OSX where each monthly update kills off more apps you have, forcing you to buy more apps and popsnizzle. The whole 64bit only craze is an apple induced hysteria. PC people don't care unless the app would actually greatly benefit from it.

With the new chat out of beta, Steam is now fully 64-bit. Dropbox changed to fully 64-bit too, since the last time I checked. These are the last of the apps I run full-time to go 64-bit, which is nice.

It did require a bit of work, though. Had to purge some old Quicklook plugins to get Quicklookd 32 to go away, and some hidden startup items.

Yeah, that was in the beta. But now web views aren't really really slow.

Now they just need to fix this:

Funny, they are blury even in non-retina. They are just all around crappy icons there. Coupled with the blue squares under 'notifications' 'messages' and 'username' in the main window upper-right ... their UI still looks halfassed as always.

I like how the notification icon is not properly centered, and it will move up for some reason on hover (it behaves properly on Windows). But the only thing that really irks me is the Windows-style window icons.

Maybe I'm blind, but on retina, the only blurriness I've noticed was in the first beta, when the new UI would not render at retina resolution, but they fixed that.

I've created a (mostly) macOS-specific Steam UI bug thread here. Not that Valve will read it. Can't believe they don't have a proper bug tracking system. Well, I can believe it.

Oh I know!!! My brother n I have run into a really annoying-as-heck bug, and cannot find anyway to inform them about it. And then all the other bugs. And then I saw this monster comprehensive thread on their forums (which excluded the annoying bug we ran into lol)... and valve is like... 'meh'.

Well, the nice thing about the new steam 'look' is... it is giving us at MGS/WGS a wider window of 'doing better' for our own new redesign ;) You know... if steam sets the bar low, then its easier for the rest of us to do better lol.
