This genius did the boxes for Spectre and Prince of Persia, among many others. Just seeing the pictures made me itch to hold those boxes again. I picked them up to hold them whenever I saw them in a store.

I got rid of most of my game boxes long ago. I do still have a Myth II box - it's embossed and handsome, and the front folds out to show you more gameplay pictures. That's as much as you could hope on boxes in the late 90's (reasons are explained in the article.)

I have a moving box full of original game boxes. All the game boxes that could be 'safely flattened' are in one box, and then all the weird hard-glued-edge boxes are in another (like the Marathon Trilogy hard box). I still have the Prince of Persia one! And that Iron Helix (awesome 3d pre-rendered game). Among others. I don't think I ever bought Spectre, but I may have..... the box looks terribly familiar.

Wow - that Prince of Persia box and Iron Helix box bring back memories. I never got past like an hour into the Iron Helix game - just always got stuck on what to do and couldn't figure it out and was too young to know about buying guides (plus there was no internet to check on). It's funny, just the other day I was trying to remember what game it was that caused me such frustration and I could never get past, and this reminded me :). I think that was my first CD-ROM game.

That PoP box is awesome. Unfortunately I'm too young to have enjoyed any of these. By the time I got PoP it looked like this:

I have a 6 foot closet shelf that is filled with folded game boxes.  I could not bear to part with them.  Some were beautiful, all were exciting.  I've never been able to refold a Marathon box!
