By the way, the ESRB rating also states a Mac version, though that's not necessarily valid proof for an upcoming port. (There have been quite a few cases where Mac was also listed as platform, but the port never turned up.)

Corporate red tape ;)
Make more money of the more recent game, than putting out an old game (even though the old game is still NEW to mac users, but they dont see it that way).

There seems to be confirmation of the upcoming Metro Last Light Mac version.

So there will be a linux version... That would suggest the game is ported internally. I hope the coders know what they are doing and that we won't get a Ubisoft-quality port.

Well I've already played 2033 so I'm not complaining...maybe another reason is they figured most Mac users interested in the game already found a way to play it...

That's a matter of perspective and anecdotal as for example... Assassin's Creed Brotherhood runs top notch on my latest iMac at full settings and not every game has as good performance as it native or not.

Why is that an interesting day to choose? Are you implying Apple might show it off at their event? Highly doubt it, it'll be an iPhone/iPod event as usual.

Oh no not at all. It was just that it is the same same day as that presumed event. Both are completely unrelated.

@tbc don't know how good it is, but it's a sequel to a Metro 2033 that was apparently quite good. And it seems they worked hard on their 3d engine for Metro Last Light, to use all the latest graphical gimmicks and stuff possible :

Oh, that trailer looks awesome :

Thanks for the tip, but I'll hold off spending money on Metro until it has been shown that the developers, who are completely inexperienced in making games for the Mac, are actually able to produce a decent Mac port. There were enough disappointments of that kind already.

That link is to a PC version.  Looked but can't find a Mac port.  Is there a Mac port?
