Metro: Last Light Mac version will be released? Or internal testing only?

I highly, highly, highly doubt it... but we've been surprised before. As a 90's-era Mac gamer hold out I simply don't believe it until I'm playing it.

No Metro 2033 for Mac, no sequel bought by me.

If it's in the Steam database, the probability is pretty high.

Just think about Max Payne 3 and other Mac game releases before. And isn't XCOM for Mac already listed there as well? :P

It (XCOM Mac) was listed by mistake. Some beta testers mentioned it awhile back—albeit I believe it may have been tested by some via Steam—but it was removed.

I'm pretty sure this wasn't a mistake. ;)

Steam DB leaked a number of upcoming Mac releases. Why should it be different this time?

XCOM for Mac is still listed in the Steam database. In fact, the entry seems to have been updated recently, since the Mac version was referred to as "Elite Edition" (i.e. containing all the DLC the standard Windows version is missing) up to a few days ago.

It will be Feral's first ever Steam release and I bet it's coming.

When this game was posted on the ESRB it also had a listing for Mac. I took it for one of those dubious listings though... but this steam db leak lends credence to it.

Also Steam db has leaked a number of PC games as well such as Mortal Kombat (2011) which is being released next month. It's been pretty accurate for the most part.

After seeing the ESRB listing a while back I contacted the developers about the possibility of a Mac version and received this response:

Unfortunately there are no plans at this time to create a Mac version of the game. At the time the ESRB rating was requested, THQ may have planned a Mac version, but when we acquired the title, development was not working on that version.

So, the database listing may be a relic of THQ as well.

The reason I thought it was only being tested via Steam is because I saw someone in my Friends window with Steam stating they were playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown Elite Edition. Although not released via Steam the game under that title only was announced for Mac OS X at the time (this was prerelease). I didn't ask that person about it because I assumed it was under NDA but hadn't heard mention of a Steam version again until now.

Who knows... I'll believe it when I see it, though.

That's a shame. That game looks brilliant.

So... mention of the OS X version of XCOM in the Steam database was the real deal, after all.
If we extrapolate to Metro....

As always we will adopt the wait and see approach. I'll be keeping my eyes on this one though. Would make sense from a financial point of view for them to do this.

That's great. I got Metro 2033 and played it a bit Bootcamped. If it wasn't for the horrible experience I feel BlackOps Mac is I wouldn't have purchased Windows at all and would have waited for a port of BlackOps II, if ever.

So a Mac port is basically confirmed? :)
This is one of the most graphically intensive game, Cider is probably out of the question. Does it say anything on who's doing the port?

Kiss Me Blind = Metro Last Light? Wow, that would be unexpected. But why not? Feral's on Steam after all.
