Meh. I never got the appeal of these games.

Tales of the Borderlands was fun, though. RIP Telltale.

I'll be disappointed if Aspyr can't get B2 ported to 64-bit. Starting to lose hope frankly. But a new one would ease the sting, assuming a Mac version ever turns up.

I'm pushing myself through The Pre-Sequel. The low gravity really makes it a no-fun chore that I feel compelled to finish.

It's real! I am so hyped.

Let's hope for a Mac port at launch.
I wonder who will do it, Feral or Aspyr?

I really hope this remaster will include a Mac version on Steam, since Feral's port wasn't on Steam before.
If not, it will probably come as a free upgrade to Feral's MAS version too, since that one's in for a 64bit/Metal update anyway. However, I'd gladly pay for the remaster if it performs well on macOS.

DirtyHarry50, did you play BL2 yet, or do we need to have the BL3 release postponed???

I am all in on BL3. But man, that was a really bad trailer. Complete random things stuck together, and to me it shows a game this is more in the early stages of being produced, rather than something that should be released within a year.

I liked it, mainly because a) generous length; b) Brick sax solo, c) awesome rolling wheel thing.
You are right that it was short on details that might tell us how far along it is. But it's just a reveal trailer. We'll have a better sense soon.

totally with you, here. Too samey, too much relying on the status BL1/BL2 earned and the "together with friends"-trope. Stiff/ clunky animations. From _that_ trailer I am totally underwhelmed.

I am more excited about the 'updates' BL1/BL2/Pre will get.
hey, don´t worry - it´s only red pixels on your hands...

From GameSpot:

Quote

inventory management will be overhauled. You'll now be able to lock weapons that you want to ensure stay safe, while those you don't care about can be labeled as junk to make disposing of them more straightforward. Similarly, you'll no longer have to worry about picking up ammo, money, and health, as that will now be done automatically.
Oh thank god.

Quote

And finally, Gearbox says it's heeding complaints from fans and will update the campaign's final boss. It should now be "more engaging, challenging, and rewarding."
That's good-- I enjoyed the game quite a bit, but after a few zillion attempts I just gave up on that last boss.

Article also mentions some visual improvements coming to BL2 for free (i.e. not a full remaster.) I hope Aspyr is quietly working on the 64-bit port already, and can include those.

Hmm, I understood from the article that the boss will be harder, because of the "more challenging" part.

Also, from another article: "Among the loot (also available from killing enemies) will be a handful of new rare, unique weapons which may help killing the now less-rubbish final boss."

Another article: "They’ve additionally overhauled the garbage remaining boss."

Last one: "The game's final boss has been altered for a tougher, more rewarding challenge, and to make it a more "engaging" encounter."

I'd guess Aspyr. They ported the previous two, and they seem to have the closer ties to 2K/Gearbox currently.

I'd hope so as well. Would be a perfect opportunity

I mean, I massively enjoyed the trailer, but I can see where the criticism is coming from. This trailer was indeed pure fanservice. It was almost exclusively targeted at people already caring about Borderlands and its memorable characters.

Trailer was great, everything I hoped for. I saw guns guns guns, I saw a very nice variety of environments, I saw sweet new enemies, and I saw a hella sweet Brick sax solo.

Coincidence is I'm replaying Borderlands currently, for achievements. I beat the main game's final boss today: it really is simple to kill! It takes 15 mn because it has tons of health, but you just have to hide behind a pillar, shoot the tentacles, then eye, take cover when the eye shoots its beam, rinse and repeat.
