Aspyr ported 'Jedi Outcast' and 'Jedi Academy' to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, but won't update them to 64-bit for macOS?
Their recently found blatant disregard for their original platform is all kinds of sad.

I just decided to check it. I don't know why it doesn't show up for Janichsan, but for me it still shows up in the Mac App Store on 10.14.6.
App stores new Back Log Detection feature is kicking in.

Exactly. I'm wondering if we'll ever see them port another great and interesting game to the Mac. I've completely given up on them.

It's a new feature in the Mac App Store. When it detects you've still got too many games you've never even touched it'll just hide the games it thinks you'd be interested in, so you won't be tempted on spending even more money on games you're never going to play. Some people think it's outright censorship, but according to Apple it's for these people's own protection. :P

Sucks, but obviously they'll make more money doing this, so I can't say I blame them.

Tangentially related, but I recently learned that the Civ V 64-bit patch permanently broke cross-platform multiplayer. As in, it's not possible to release a Windows patch to get them in parity again. Any idea why a 64-bit patch would do this? I think the Windows version is still 32-bit but I don't understand how that would affect multiplayer.

I may be wrong, but I think jos forgot to use Sarcasm Sans font when typing his comment. (And, just to be clear, there is no such font but there should be so that people can immediately tell when one is being sarcastic - like jos.)

Clearly you can tell I just dont use the app store, but only hear horror stories, so I would believe anything 'stupid' said about it ;)

Apparently Aspyr is releasing an enhanced version of 'Star Wars Episode I: Racer' for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on May 12.

Nothing new for macOS, iPadOS or iOS.

Not sure how long since they've brought a new game to the Mac.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III in early April 2019, so about 54 weeks ago.
Yes, I'd say they've left us.

After Aspyr not porting 'Borderlands 3' and now porting games to consoles only, I heavy-heartedly have to agree.

The whole story is even more egregious, when keeping in mind, that the original was ported to MacOS 8.1 back in 2000 by LucasArts.
IMG gave the game a 9/10 back in the day...

Another nail in the coffin...
Aspyr now mentions on their support page, they had to scrap the long planned 64-bit update for 'C&C Generals'.

Quote

Last year, we announced we would be transitioning to 64-bit apps following Apple's decision to end support for 32-bit versions upon the roll out of macOS Catalina. Unfortunately, during this process we discovered we won’t be able to update Command and Conquer and have removed it from our store today, May 20, 2020. We will continue to provide customer service support for our customers who purchased this game through us, but have not updated to macOS Catalina. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Well, they are working on something for the Mac: the new Civ VI season pass gets ported.
