I really hope this remaster will include a Mac version on Steam, since Feral's port wasn't on Steam before.
If not, it will probably come as a free upgrade to Feral's MAS version too, since that one's in for a 64bit/Metal update anyway. However, I'd gladly pay for the remaster if it performs well on macOS.

You are right that it was short on details that might tell us how far along it is. But it's just a reveal trailer. We'll have a better sense soon.

totally with you, here. Too samey, too much relying on the status BL1/BL2 earned and the "together with friends"-trope. Stiff/ clunky animations. From _that_ trailer I am totally underwhelmed.
I am more excited about the 'updates' BL1/BL2/Pre will get.

Article also mentions some visual improvements coming to BL2 for free (i.e. not a full remaster.) I hope Aspyr is quietly working on the 64-bit port already, and can include those.

Hmm, I understood from the article that the boss will be harder, because of the "more challenging" part.
Also, from another article: "Among the loot (also available from killing enemies) will be a handful of new rare, unique weapons which may help killing the now less-rubbish final boss."
Another article: "They’ve additionally overhauled the garbage remaining boss."
Last one: "The game's final boss has been altered for a tougher, more rewarding challenge, and to make it a more "engaging" encounter."

Coincidence is I'm replaying Borderlands currently, for achievements. I beat the main game's final boss today: it really is simple to kill! It takes 15 mn because it has tons of health, but you just have to hide behind a pillar, shoot the tentacles, then eye, take cover when the eye shoots its beam, rinse and repeat.
