Why no announcement about BTS yet? Also, if I understand correctly, Pirates runs on the same engine as Civ IV, so why isn't anybody porting Pirates to the Mac? Seems like two great opportunities for Aspyr.

I imagine it is under consideration.  But, second expansions sell less than first exapnsions.  If TK2 expects the same fees for Warlords, we may not get BtS.

Through MacGameFiles:

Civ4 1.61 Rev. C has 62,562 d/l's

Warlords 2.08 Rev. B has 10,487 d/l's

I guess there are some out there who are not sophsticated enough to look for updates online - still playing the box versions.

I've given up hope on Pirates, but I'm pretty sure that BtS will come to the Mac: CivIV is one of Aspyr's bestselling titles, and - if I recall correctly - Warlords also sells pretty well. Also don't forget that Aspyr still has some unannounced titles in the pipeline as hinted in the past.

I know, through Aspyr's support desk, that the latest PC updates for Civ4 & Warlords are in testing for the mac versions.  But, Aspyr is mum about BtS.  :(  I hope you're right Janichsan! :)  I just have to keep reminding myself that Aspyr is not MacSoft (re: Civ3 updates, etc.).

I sure hope that we get BtS, and I say that as someone who wasn't interested enough to buy Warlords.  The list of new stuff being added in BtS is simply jaw-dropping.

Warlords was nice, but everything I've read about BtS makes it out to be an amazing entry into the series.

While I will understand if Aspyr doesn't port it, I hold out hope that they will.

Anything new on a Mac version of BtS these days?  Rather seems as though if it's not announced soon it never will be...

I assume that Aspyr is pretty busy right now with NWN2 and ET: Quake Wars - and this other mystery project. But I'm still confident that we'll get BtS.

At the bottom of this page at CivFanatics.com, it is indeed a fact that a Mac version og BtS is comming.. A contracter has yet to be assigned though, and where they got their information is unknown I guess..

It was taken directly from the Firaxis Chat, which you can find on this page.

Again, I certainly hope BtS will come to the Mac.  But, I still do not put stock in anything a Firaxian (game producer in this case) remarks about a possible mac port.  I remember distinctly such a comment made by a Firaxian (in a chat) regarding Civ3: PtW - never happened until it was included in Civ3: Conquests (several years later) because Aspyr snatched the rights to Civ3 when MacSoft let them expire.  The bright side here is that Aspyr still has the rights.

Alas, I stood in the game isle at Target a couple nights ago looking forlornly at Civ4: BtS.
:crying:
Sure wish it would come out for the Mac.

Civ4 Complete for Windows (vanilla + Warlords + BtS) is available at knock-down prices these days. I can run it at OK speeds on my Mac Pro in XP, using the latest build of Parallels to avoid rebooting.
