I've been very busy since I've started this topic, but now that I've finally got some time I wanted to keep my promise and update the startpost to add all of the titles that other people've posted. Unfortunately I don't see an Edit button. There seems to be some kind of time limit for editing posts and I assume the startpost's too old to be edited. Well, if this forum doesn't allow it then there's nothing I can do about it.

To add at least something useful to this topic, I'll add my list from the "Feral's upcoming project?" topic:

So, I think we'll now know which games are going to be updated and which games aren't. Mafia II for example is listed on my Mac as a 32-bit app, but it's not on their list of games which will go out of sale, so then I expect it will be updated.

I went to the Mac App Store to view the games they've released sorted by release date and see which games won't make the cut. These are their games on the Mac App Store sorted by date with those that'll go out of sale by the end of the year in red:

Now that Feral has updated Railroads for 64bit compatibility, does anyone know if the MGS version will get the update?

So the Feral 64-bit Apocalypse happened... all of the above were taken off the Mac App Store, somehow with the exception of 'LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7', so both LEGO Harry Potter games are still available.

According to Feral, the MAS version got that update as well.

Only if Feral supply it. However I suspect all of the Feral titles on MGS are just going to be switched to Steam-Codes only.

Looked through more of my 32-bit games.

Good news

• Myth 2 - Turns out Project Magma released a 64-bit version a couple months ago. Huzzah! Soulblighter is (still) here!
  
• MacMAME - looks like there is a 64-bit build but I haven't tried it yet.

Uncertain future

• Freespace 2 (FS2Open) - Shame, but at least I played the main campaign last year.
  
• Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle - Double Fine converted the iOS versions to 64-bit when that app-ocalypse happened so there's some hope, but it's by no means certain.

• Descent 1 & 2 (DXX Rebirth project) - Overload scratches this itch but I would miss the classic levels.

Probably not, but should run in VMWare:

• Braid
  
• Darwinia
  
• Dragon Age Origins
  
• The Fool and His Money
  
• All my GOG games that were built with Boxer

Probably toast:

• Sheepshaver (classic Mac emulator) - this would be a blow.

There are other 32-bit games in my Steam Library that I don't know about, just because they aren't currently installed. But I've been doing a good job of playing down my backlog so I'm not too worried.

According to yesterday's Feral newsletter Tomb Raider will be the next game to be updated to 64-bit and Metal and should be released somewhere in the upcoming weeks:

Since my Mac can't run Metal, what's actually happening is that they are slowly making the games I can currently play incompatible. :-P

If you have the games on Steam, you will most likely still be able to access the OpenGL version in the beta branch. At least, that's what Feral did for Batman: Arkham City.

Does it mean that the MAS version will get updated no matter what? I suppose it won't, because the Metal version will require Mojave (which itself requires Metal), and the MAS checks that.

I think the MAS allows downloading the latest compatible version of apps in your purchase history, just like the iOS App Store does.

I sort of assumed that would be true. Still, the idea that their hard work was having the exact opposite effect made me laugh.

Since I am neither upgrading my machine nor my OS at the moment, in a narrow sense this is not true. But of course Feral wouldn't be making these updates in the first place if Apple wasn't migrating to 64-bit only. So in a wider sense you are correct.
