Against robots, explosives are generally the best weapons of choice. Stock up on dynamite and frag grenades, and if I recall correctly, you should also have access to grenade and rocket launchers at this point. And then, just blast away.

I have purchased several games that were born out of Kickstarter even though I didn't back them in the first place. Kickstarter has certainly been a good thing for us Mac gainers.

I just fired up the game again. I didn't have any grenades, but TNT and pipe bombs didn't do much. I'll go buy grenades and come back I guess.
The problem is I have one non-combat character, one sniper, an assault guy, and two melee characters. The melee guys are completely useless, so I have effectively two characters that are worth anything. Although, I just discovered my non-combat character can convert robots with her computer skill. That should help a lot.
The dice robots are a royal pain. They take almost half my health in one hit.

I really liked the game too, very much. The next two in the series are among a handful of titles I would like getting access to if I ever decide to get a low end MacBook which is all I would need for the older games I’d still like to play one of these days.

Well as I'm slowly making progress as I remember how the combat works.
But jeebus, there are no healers around there, and grenades cost like $200 (and rocket launchers are $500 and one use!) and so far I have only found the random roaming merchant that carries them. So I'm trying to morph one of my melee guys into a crappy heavy (so I can use that Betsy gun from Hopi) with some spare points.

From what I hear it is poorly optimized on the PC too, despite the lower requirements. There are reports of the game killing graphics cards, but I think that's been fixed.

Pillars of Eternity as well, and that's a (largely) 2D-game. I really hope they can at least fix the load times with the sequel.
