Due to some crafty asshole, who wrote a script that would create a spammy private message and send to each person on the forum in turn ... I have removed the ability to send private messages for general members.
If you are a trusted member, and regular, and wish to do private messages more than 1 per day... you can be elevated to "Members+" and have more freedom.

Increased the strictness on the lower tiers of guests/validating/new members. Anyone truly willing to join the community will understand the hoops they have to go through and post approval waiting game. They can blame the spammers.

The joke is on the spammers. All that effort just to reach maybe 10 active forum members, tops. :-)
In this case, no nudes is most definitely good news.
But I'll tell you what, if I get 1,000 beans on this post then I will reconsider.

Well, I do estimate that about now, approximately 40% of the content on this site could be considered spam.. We don't really behave as intellectual grown ups. 
Edit: Okay, perhaps Matt can be considered an adult, as he didn't send nudes around, despite being provoked to do so. I propose we promote him to the title of mom. Or MILF, if he actually gets his 1000 beans on that post, and follows up on it (Nudge, nudge someone with admin powers who can edit the number of beans on posts).

By using the forum Private Message system to send a single message to every other user on the forum ... all those users had an 'email' sent to them with that private message notification. Effectively causing "spam" to originate from our server to email boxes, and then subsequently being seen/marked/flagged/reported as spam coming from this server by various email services.
