Latest patch, including a new Takedown, is live... except on Mac, which gets it a week later. I sense a pattern emerging.

The July 25th blog post was very recently edited to add " .. except for Mac, which is planned to be released July 2nd".

I know what you are thinking. But they couldn't just put out a new announcement, or respond to the Mac gamers who opened support tickets, or asked on Tiwtter or in the forum. No, that would be too easy! They actually traveled BACK IN TIME to edit the July 25th blog post.

They have demonstrated just how much Mac gamers mean to them.

4th DLC is out. Level cap raised again. Does that include Mac? I'm not sure. I had a big download a few days ago-- or was it last week? Time has lost all meaning for me.

Also they've announced the next pay DLC will add a 4th skill tree to all characters. So that's fun.

But if you never bought B3, or like me you are taking a break from it, there is still fun to be had by reading forum posts from players who are OUTRAGED that the new skill trees will cost MONEY! Doesn't Epic realize that these players are OWED for their loyalty? This is the last straw, they are DEFINITELY going to stop playing (but not stop posting, apparently.)

Reading these posts is free, there's no charge for them.

Probably a mistake.

Denuvo has recently been removed.

Also, Denuvo has never stopped a game from being released on Steam for Mac before: for instance all recent Total War games use it, yet are available on Steam for Mac, in part since day one.

Oh, okay, now I really don't have any theories [as to] why it's not released for macOS on Steam.

I was wondering how Epic does it, if they don't have Denuvo, but thanks for the info. Now we know that's not an issue.

So what is the verdict on BL3 after all this time? Does it live up to or surpass BL2? My guess is no, because Jack is dead.

Absolutely better than BL2. The gun play mechanics and movement, the main and DLC story lines have been a lot of fun (just finished that Hammerlock DLC, much better story line than I was expecting). The main enemies in the base game don't carry the charisma of Handsome Jack, they're a lot more annoying and seem (IMHO) to embody the YouTube, TikTok, 'Generation Me'-turn-super villain…but that really made me look forward to defeating them—savoring them shutting tfu! Plus you can grab ledges! I'm having a whole lot more fun in BL3 than I did in all the other Borderlands. Especially that boring grind, Pre-Sequel!

BTW, I haven't played the macOS version in a long time, anyone know if FidelityFX option is available? The nuances in the graphics are noticeably better too.

I greatly enjoyed BL3. Well worth the money, some nice improvements over BL2.

I don't think it has quite the longevity of BL2, even though they keep adding things to it. I lost interest during the second DLC I tried; I may get back to it one day. I only tried one VH; I think I played 3 different ones in BL2.

The BL3 forums are full of people who complain that it's a bad game because they got tired of it after 500-1000 hours of play.. I guess they want that perfect game that they can play for the next 5 years.. Objectively its a highly replayable game, but I don't think it quite reaches BL2 heights. (Not that I'm itching to go back to BL2 either.)

I agree with this take. I actually think BL3 is a better game than BL2 - it just smoothes over some of the UI edges and annoyances, the weapons and enemies are fun, it's not as much of a grind - it's just an all around incredibly well made and fun shooter (except for Mac performance - that is popsnizzle). And I really liked the DLCs (much more than the main storyline actually). But oddly enough, it just won't have the replay-ability for me that BL2 had. I probably dumped 200-250 hours into BL2, replaying as 2-3 different vault hunters, playing all the way through true vault hunter and ultimate vault hunter modes, etc. I only played through BL3 once - it was probably like 50-75 hours or so - maybe I'll go back to it in the future, but I don't quite have the same pull like I did with BL2.

Speaking of BL3, I'm looking for a buddy to do the DLC with. I've already completed DLC 1, just started 2. My friend who I did play all of BL3 through with had to bail due to school and work stuff, so he's no longer free. Anyone else around interested to play a few times a week? I like to explore and do the side quests and listen to the dialogue, so no blitzing here. I do play an Amara on Mayhem 11, but again, not looking to speed run anything. If that sounds interesting, shoot me a message/reply! Thanks. :)
