I strongly agree. Which is why I'm so annoyed that Steam no longer supports Mavericks users, and Epic doesn't support El Capitan users.

Incidentally I scrolled back to see when the last post was that mentioned BL3. It was 19 posts back, and that was just a quote from an earlier post. I completely share the blame mind you. Just thought it was worth mentioning. :-)

And making things worse, some games at some point won't run on a later version of macOS anymore, like probably all 32bit titles on 10.15, so if at some point Steam requires macOS 10.15, those games will be lost forever unless you bought them somewhere else.

Borderlands 3 gameplay from E3 (Somehow I missed all of that)

I am seeing more Borderlands 2 with the exact same graphics, same enemies, and even worse menus (!). I don't see what they've used the last 5 years on other than a sliding mechanic from 100 other games?

They saw how BL1 and 2 still keep selling and figured "meh, lets just push out a 3 using the same popsnizzle people seem to love"... and thus... comes a sequel that is just that.

For example, thats all the Pre-Sequel was... they only added butt-slams, along with making the menus worse.

And for all intents and purposes, BL2 was just BL1 with worse menus, and added one new thing too.

So, they are on par for their course ;)

One improvement I'd like to see in BL3 is the ability to skip to the main menu after launch by pressing one key, instead of 4 or 5.

I just stumbled across this older tweet from Feral and now wonder what that might mean, if anything..
Aspyr doing the remaster of a game originally ported by Feral doesn't make much sense to me, so perhaps they were joking.

Don't play with my feelings like that.. :crying:

same art style, sure...  but the graphics are far higher quality.  Like... first time i even saw a screenshot, it was plainly obvious.

The gunplay is also a lot tighter, the scaling is far better, and you can have multiple active skills.

Thats... really all that was needed.  BL2 was extremely good.  They could have just made more BL2 and most people (including me, previous to recent revelations) would have bought it indefinitely.

It isn't broke... why fix it?

But to say there aren't clear upgrades is kinda silly (though im not sure about the menus, haven't really paid attention, and TBH they were NEVER good, even in BL1).

That being said... im not buying it.  I wont give Randy Pitchford a single dime.  That guy is complete scum.  Which is a shame, i guess, because i loved BL1 and BL2 to death, and BL3 looks great (more of the same + improved gunplay + better graphics fidelity?  sign me up)... but seriously, that guy is a walking bag of dung.

Hell never get a penny out of me ever again.

Preview from wccftech.com:

Quote

Borderlands 3 serves up some unique, fun-to-play new Vault Hunters, with the robot Beastmaster FL4K being a particular standout, but nearly everything else about the game – visuals, level design, sense of humor — feels distinctly familiar. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as there plenty of folks who just want more Borderlands. This is clearly a well-crafted, polished game, which promises to deliver a ton of content, but some of the excitement and anarchic spirit of the earlier Borderlands games seems to have worn off. Of course, I’ve only played five hours of the game. Perhaps I’ll find that spark hiding on one of the planets I haven’t visited yet. Dedicated fans are guaranteed to get plenty of what they want from Borderlands 3, but the series’ Siren song may not call as loudly to casual fans this time around.

The exact vibe I get from the trailers.

I am disappointed in you guys. No Borderlands 3 posts despite the game being out. Hasn't anyone completed it yet, so we can get an honest review???

So there we have it, no Mac version at launch.
Kind of was to be expected given there hasn't been any official mention of macOS with regard to Borderlands 3 so far, but still quite disappointing.

I just hope either Aspyr or Feral is hard at work on it already.

We can only hope! ...Of course I don't care, since none of my current Macs can run it. :P

Current metacritic rating sets it at a "low" 85, which is what I feared. Of course Borderlands 2 was 'only' 89, but this game should be mighty better due to the size and different planets and what not. This likely means a not so awesome story as Borderlands 2, and not much improvements other than graphics and more guns. :(

Oh yeah, that might at least explain the low user score on Metacritic. Forgot about that Epic thing.

While I'm massively stoked for the game, I currently neither have the time nor really the money for new, full-priced games. So it'll have to wait. Plus, I'm sceptical whether the EGS really is the shape to be a solid platform for the game. It certainly hasn't really gained many of the features promised back when BL3 was announced.
