I think your snark is a distancing mechanism, papering over a fear of being rejected by this community. Don't worry, MacDude, we still love you!

Hey speak for yourself!  Macdude22 refuses to set me up with his newest calico kitty named Polly.  Just this morning he was very harsh with me over this and I had to spend the next two hours power licking myself to relieve the tension.  On the bright side, I don't stink as much, but now my tongue looks like the ragged flag over the Alamo just before Santa Anna reclaimed the mission grounds.  Plus he let me die in Borderlands 3 last night when I was right behind him with that same old tired alibi, "I can't find you, I don't see anyone's name over them".  It cost me 32 million space credits to respawn. Then to make matters worse, he also bullied me into picking up a class mod he had saved and dropped for me.  I didn't want to but he just kept looming over me hollering at me to pick it up!

I say we pull his pants down and shove him into the girl's locker room.  No, he'd like that.  We should take some girl out of the girl's locker room, pull her pants down and shove her into his locker.  No he'd like that even better.  You know what?  Let's just forget this whole "pants" thing and think of something else to do to him.

The games stutters from time to time, bit it seems relatively playable and it still looks good. This bodes well for the native version. :)

Has Apple specs for the gpu in m1 released? (pixel-shader, vertex-shaders etc.)

From Larians Baldur's Gate 3 news letter:
"As of today, both Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Baldur’s Gate 3 run on the new range of Macs, but they currently run via Rosetta 2, which doesn’t really make use of the exciting features M1 enables."

So Baldurs Gate 3 was actually running using Rosetta at the event, which I found surprising. I assumed it being native code, since they were showcasing it (Did I miss it being mentioned anywhere in this thread?). This also means it will likely run even better than what they showcased!

Hopefully Feral/Aspyr and the others will make use of the M1 and not just wait for M1X or "lifuka" or how the discrete apple-gpu will be named.

They will in time, but one has to remember that the M1 market share is minuscule at the moment, compared to regular iGPU containing Macs, so the latter will still be the low bar that games are ported for.

I don't think it means that the game was running under Rosetta. This could have been some early development version not yet accessible to the public.

I'd find it surprising if they had a native version running well a month ago, and is only releasing an X86_64 version a month later. After all, this is prerelease software anyway.

Apple showed Office running natively on ARM at WWDC, but the beta has only been available since last month.

That is certainly true! But users expect a β-release Office to be stable as they use it for work, Baldur's Gate 3, not so much.. :) But yes, you are most likely right!

For comparison, running on Windows, intel iris : https://www.youtube....h?v=ByMkyayroRg
The M1 Mac pushes twice as many pixels (1080p vs 720p), uses two emulation layers (windows > macOS x86 > macOS ARM for the CPU)  (DX11 > openGL > Metal for the GPU) and still runs the game faster overall.
That's unless crossover implements something particular, like a DX11 to Metal direct conversion, but I don't think they do. AFAIK, Wine only does DirectX to openGL (conversion to Metal calls is done by macOS on the M1, as the M1 has no openGL drivers).

I have yet to see any proof for this claim.

Reportedly, the openGL renderer on M1 Macs is named "Metal (something)" while it should be the GPU name.
EDIT: it's named "4.1 Metal - 71.0.7"

Sounds like unless you need and get one of the higher end dGPUs, the M1 is a star performer.
Kestrel (Falcon NW Tiki) – 3.7 GHz i9 10900K / 32GB RAM / 2x2TB Intel 7600p (RAID0), 2x480GB Intel 730 (RAID0), 10TB STX BarraCuda Pro / TITAN V 12GB
Iridium (MacBook Pro Mid-2012) – 2.7 GHz i7 3820QM / 16GB RAM / 4TB Samsung 860 Pro / GeForce GT 650M 1GB

When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.
