It doesn't need to be renewed. You register it when you install it. The problem comes when you try to reinstall it years later.

My son wanted to revisit Pop Pop so I dug out my original registration email for it. It took a couple tries- I think the game was running already when he rewound the system date. Restarting the game fixed that.

So the trick works with at least one other Ambrosia game.
