It's garbage in comparison to Dragonfall, so just you wait.

Yeah I've heard great things about that, got the whole series bought and lined up so I'm in for a treat.
Maybe it really is all cocks in the end.

I got stuck in Damonta, which is the place that's overrun by robots. And I'd done all other quests up to that point, so I couldn't go level up and then come back. If there's a way to sneak around the robots, that would be great.
Yeah, Damonta is one of the locations were you have to fight. However, you do not have to fight every robot, as you can take different routes and avoid many of the bots. There are a few chokepoints, though, were this is not possible.

Against robots, explosives are generally the best weapons of choice. Stock up on dynamite and frag grenades, and if I recall correctly, you should also have access to grenade and rocket launchers at this point. And then, just blast away.

This is a great thread so thanks for doing it. I've been pretty lucky with all my Kickstarted games although I stopped after Tides of Numaria because I kind of got burned out with the whole thing and hate waiting eons for the games to be delivered. I was involved with Wasteland 2, Divinity Original Sin, Tides of Numeria, Pillars, and Shadowgate.

I have purchased several games that were born out of Kickstarter even though I didn't back them in the first place. Kickstarter has certainly been a good thing for us Mac gainers.

I just fired up the game again. I didn't have any grenades, but TNT and pipe bombs didn't do much. I'll go buy grenades and come back I guess.

The problem is I have one non-combat character, one sniper, an assault guy, and two melee characters. The melee guys are completely useless, so I have effectively two characters that are worth anything. Although, I just discovered my non-combat character can convert robots with her computer skill. That should help a lot.

The dice robots are a royal pain. They take almost half my health in one hit.

Melee is really not the best choice against robots. ;) If I recall correctly, I had at this point two assault characters (Angela and my own squad leader), one own healer character with an SMG, one demolitions and heavy weapons specialist (I don't remember if he already had a rocket launcher at this point, but probably yes), one shotgunner, Rose (as computer specialist and backup healer), and Ralphy (melee). Most of them also carried throwable explosives of one kind or the other.

Yeah, they are one of the meanest enemies in the game.

I really liked the game too, very much. The next two in the series are among a handful of titles I would like getting access to if I ever decide to get a low end MacBook which is all I would need for the older games Id still like to play one of these days.

Well as I'm slowly making progress as I remember how the combat works.

But jeebus, there are no healers around there, and grenades cost like $200 (and rocket launchers are $500 and one use!) and so far I have only found the random roaming merchant that carries them. So I'm trying to morph one of my melee guys into a crappy heavy (so I can use that Betsy gun from Hopi) with some spare points.

The Mac system requirements are quite high. The minimum CPU config is more than the recommended config on Windows. And the recommended CPU is basically the fastest available on the Mac (aside from xeons with plenty of cores). Since this is a Unity game, I hope it doesn't mean the Metal version of the engine is poorly optimised...

From what I hear it is poorly optimized on the PC too, despite the lower requirements. There are reports of the game killing graphics cards, but I think that's been fixed.

That's probably a bit exaggerated: I think I have seen one single report where someone said that his GPU died while playing the game, but he stressed that it was ageing and on its last stretch anyway.

The weirdly different system requirements between the Mac and the Windows version puzzle me as well. That aside, I'm beginning to wonder whether Unity itself has problems with graphically more intense games: BattleTech isn't by far the only game in recent times where I've seen reports of bad performance even under Windows and on otherwise powerful computers. Subnautica and Signal from Tölva for instance have similar issues.

Pillars of Eternity as well, and that's a (largely) 2D-game. I really hope they can at least fix the load times with the sequel.

Added my final verdict for BATTLETECH, and added impressions for Backer preview versions of Bloodstained and Underworld Ascendant.

Tides of Numera, should one play that one first, or the original Torment first?

Since there is no direct connection between the games, it doesnt really matter. But as its probably better anyway to treat the games fully separately, as ToN does not really live up to PST, as I mentioned.

I got my physical good for Bard's Tale 4 this week, so I added picture. I haven't played the game yet, so no verdict on this at the moment.

I'm annoyed because the Mac Build isn't out. *shakes fist*
