I guess I misspoke a bit - Fusion is not being discontinued in the sense that they will stop selling it. It is being discontinued as far as development goes. It's 'maintenance only' from here on out is what I gathered from the various blog posts. As of now, Fusion is better then Parallels, but as Parallels adds features and optimizations down the line it will undoubtably become the superior product from a performance perspective.

That seems a reasonable prediction to me also over time unless for some reason the powers that be at VMWare have some change of heart but after reading about where they make their real money and how little they were making on Fusion I wouldn't hold much hope of that happening.

I use fusion on my MBP for work quite often and love it. Unfortuneately the program as been end of life'd, as VMware has laid off all of the staff responsible for it.
Looks like it Parallels from here on out.

That seems to be some typical internet hysterical doomsaying: according to a VMware employee, the only part of the Fusion staff that has been laid off was the old UI team. Fusion is apparently far from dead.

When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.
