The Mac Gamer Weekly - new video news series.

10 June 2016 - 11:10 PM

Just wanted to give a shout out to my new youtube series about weekly Mac gaming news. I aim to release this every Friday evening, though it may bleed over into Saturday morning sometimes. Lots of fun news and nuggest of info around for Mac gamers these days, so wanted to compile them in an easily digestible format.

I plan to add some more sections, such as rumors (Steam DB stuff, etc) and perhaps shoutouts to notable Kickstarter projects or similar things like the Secret History of Mac gaming project. (Which the thread here inspired me to pledge.) Lastly, I'm keeping an eye on neat threads around IMG, Macrumors  and Reddit that may be of interest to highlight. (None make it into this video at the moment.)

Any feedback is welcome! Offhand I know some of the audio could be tuned up, and I will look to do this in future releases.

Homefront: The Revolution will have native Mac/Linux versions

02 March 2016 - 10:51 AM

Hi all!

Some fun news for shooter fans. The new Homefront game has been confirmed to have Mac/Linux versions in development. Native one's! Even better. No Cider nonsense for us.

I can’t link to the post, since it is a press release via GamesPress, a journalistic resource. You would need to login to view the post at all. But it says:

"Homefront: The Revolution is scheduled for release on May 17th in North America, and May 20th in all other territories on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC."

"Native Mac and Linux versions are also in development."

Of course I posted about it over at the MGC in a little more detail: http://www.macgameca...sions-confirmed

While the original Homefront was so so at best, the new game looks pretty neat. I'll be checking it out anyway!

Neat fact: First CRYENGINE game that will be released for OS X from what I can tell.
