IGN has posted a new collection of screenshots from Telltale Games's upcoming Back to the Future game, based on the classic films. The title is the first of several games to arrive as part of a deal with NBC Universal to develop games based on the media company's properties.

Spread across five episodes, this video game continuation of the film trilogy will follow the two main characters on a totally new adventure. For the kids out there who haven't watched the trilogy, you should know it contains crazy science, awkward hoverboard chases, time travel, and bizarre incestuous implications. It's weird, but also very much worth watching.

Quite a bit of talent is involved with the project, including the co-creator / co-writer / co-producer of the movies Bob Gale, Christopher Lloyd as the voice of Doc Brown, and of course the group at Telltale that has very clearly demonstrated skill at building entertaining episodic adventures. I know the folks here at IGN are excited to see how things turn out, and Telltale just handed over a few screenshots to give us a look at the visual style.

And now, time for some Legend of Zelda.

Likewise. I especially hope they employ point and click navigation instead of that horrid keyboard navigation scheme. The screenshots look fantastic and we already know the voice talent is top notch. :)

When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

I was interested until I saw that Michael J. Fox didn't do the voice of Marty McFly...
May still get it eventually but not in any hurry.

Have you heard they guy they got?  He might be able to do a better Marty McFly then Michael J. Fox can at this point (it's been 25 years....).

Michael J. Fox is also just too sick. I don't know if you have seen that BttF cast reunion on occasion of the anniversary, but his Parkinson's is so far advanced that he has trouble to speak fluently. That was rather painful to watch. :(

Yeah I've heard good things and will be keeping an eye out on this one. Also second the preference for point and click vs keyboard movement for these kinds of games.

This is true.  I could do a better Michael J. Fox than Michael J. Fox himself could.  He is totally messed up and in that light to boycott the game because they used a voice actor to replace him is meaningless.  Enjoy the game and the sound of Michael's simulated voice and know that you are not showing Fox any disrespect.

That's a bit of a stretch...as far as I know, you sound exactly like Bobcat Goldthwait.

I sound more like Gilbert Gottfried doing Bobcat Goldthwait as Michael J. Fox.

I wouldn't go as far as to say I'd boycott the game although that is exactly what I did as far as Sam & Max goes as my memories of the original were too fond to accept the change in voice actors plus transition into 3D.

It is really sad about Michael J. Fox and what has happened to him...
As for Back to the Future I'll will wait until Mac Game Store has a demo and make my mind up then.
