Ah, crap. There's another reason to get a new desktop.

And hey Feral, since I've got your attention HOW ABOUT A 64-BIT VERSION OF TOMB RAIDER: ANNIVERSARY eh?? It's the definitive version of the game and if anyone else tells you otherwise frankly they're idiots.
This game is not on the list of games that Feral said they would port to 64 bits. Neither is TR Underworld.

Exactly.

Whats even more stupid: A game that has yet to even be released... and it has a few DLC already listed for it. Like, wtf? Just add that remedial nonsense into the base game you HAVE YET TO ACTUALLY LAUNCH. Geezus... game devs these days are fraking retarded.

Absolutely right. It's completely ridiculous. When you release a game, just put everything in one package and put a price on it, so everyone who buys the game gets the exact same game from start to finish.

Your image is a good depiction of the way games were released back then and how they're released nowadays.

I'm not opposed to expansions sold as DLC. Original game comes out, and if it does well enough the developers can add more content. Only the people who want the content have to pay for it. Extended development means ongoing support, which is good for all players, even the ones who don't buy the DLC.

Unfortunately most studios still plan to move most or all of the developers off the game afterwards regardless of what happens. So they develop the DLC up front with the rest of the game, and then market it by trying to make us feel bad if we don't buy the full package. But that just makes us mad that the stuff wasn't in the base game.

I flew Frontier Airlines a couple times recently, and it went well. But I didn't appreciate the constant nagging to upgrade my seating and baggage choices. They even had a sign up at the airport suggesting that people behind you in line will get annoyed at you for holding things up if you don't purchase a carry-on allowance, then find your personal bag doesn't fit under the seat. The sign literally said "everyone on the plane will know it's you".

I'm waiting for the day of coin-operated bathrooms on flights. And pre-purchase bathroom privileges.

More on topic: I already posted this in the 64-bit discussion forum, but hidden in Feral's Twitter discussions was the reply that they are in fact also working on a 64-bit version of Rome: Total War. No timeframe, though.

Feral announced 'Shadow of the Tomb Raider - Definitive Edition' will be out November 5th.
I seriously hope that it doesn't require Catalina, because I'm not going to drop all by 32-bit games just for this one.

Exactly. There is absolutely no reason to require Catalina when Mojave will do the job just as well.

Unfortunately, Feral have a history of requiring the latest macOS version for their game, to take advantage of bug fixes and such.

True.... but Catalina has more bugs than a rush-job AAA game... so maybe requiring it as a basepoint would be a bad idea for them ;)

It’s more about the latest version of Metal than bug fixes. But Metal is more mature now, so maybe it won’t.

It seems that Feral isn't actively involved in this forum anymore. Perhaps the Mac community getting less relevant?

There's no Mac users here so why would they come round?

They are active on Macrumors and Reddit, so I assume they just decided there aren't enough users here I guess.

Well, we still get the monthly questions for the Feral newsletter. And there is almost always at least one of our answers featured.

So, yay, we are still relevant.

IMG forum is still pretty popular. What happened to the old IMG? There used to be a homepage with news articles, podcast and reviews.  Feral has been focusing more on IOS devices these days, as it's more lucritive. Perhaps  Feral just want to focus on IOS?

Shame. I'm guessing they didn't make enough of money from them.
