Referenced from XLR8YOURMAC!, an understandable announcement from Feral;

"With download delivery continuing to sweep all before it, we have with regret decided to stop selling boxed games."

They've included a list of games that will be available in-box until the end of the month.

Inevitable, though I didn't necessarily expect it yet (since they're based in Europe, which has been more resistant to going digital-only).

Do they even end up on any store shelves anywhere in the world, or were they mostly just mailed by direct order?

The only mac game I've seen on a shelf in years is The Sims 4.

Actually if I think long and hard about the only PC games I see on actual shelves anymore is The Sims 4.

Not a surprise, and not something I will miss personally, as I have been 100% digital for MANY years now, and before that, got most of my games on compilation discs (Now THAT was an exiting time, getting that months newest MacAddict CD! That was better than candy for a young kid).

I do get why some people likes to collect these things, but in most cases I don't see people hold onto the same affection for games as many other things, because games continuesly improve and in most cases your good memories are mostly nostalgic.

Now, physical maps for RPGs, and printed manuals with loads of art, there's something I can see the point in...
"They're everywhere!" -And now, time for some Legend of Zelda.

I haven't bought a boxed game for years, 'War in the North' might have been my last one.
Still love the boxes and extras that came with 'Borderlands - GotY Edition' and 'Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Ultimate Edition'.

Last boxed game I bought was Portal 2 I think. Man that was forever ago.
Maybe it really is all cocks in the end.
