#277614 Apple Adds ATI X1900 XT to Online Store

AMD will not be dropping the ATI brand.

Proof that people easily believe rumors and shoddy journalism.

#277417 1x X1900 or 4x 7300's in the new Mac Pro? Which is faster?

To answer Tim's question clearly, Apple currently doesn't support CrossFire (ATI) or SLI (NVIDIA) on its motherboards or in software. Your best bet is to go with the X1900 XT.

#244441 IMG Offers The Quad G5: First Impressions

I'm not clear on the methodology you used in your benchmarking (I just skimmed the article), but for the results to have any meaning at all, the settings need to be _identical_.

#244439 Freespace 2 Now Available

That makes sense, but in the interest of promoting people to download the game (as opposed to driving people away with mandatory registration), you might want to consider alternative methods of distribution.

Also, the article fails to mention that you need to register to download the file. That is annoying.

Ah, now that does makes sense. Indeed, it appears I forgot that distinction. To be precise, AGP is no PCI slot at all, and I goofed there. Dang. My bad.

Not so fast. The AGP bus is a superset of the PCI bus. So, indeed, they are related.

#238416 Chances of a Mac Radeon X1800?

They added the X800 XT as a CTO -- then upgraded it to a X850 XT. Yet they didn't sell the X850 XT in a kit, but did continue to sell the X800 XT as a kit, along with the 6800 GT.

So who knows what they plan for the PCIe G5 towers in the months to come?

View Post

Apple never offered the X800 XT as a CTO option or retail kit.

#237821 So how insane is the stock market?

To those people who have problem with Mac OS X updates (not just this one), I wonder what kind of junk you have installed in your system. I have had literally zero problems with Mac OS X updates, dating all the way back to 10.0.

Build your own! I bought a OWC FW case for about $70 a few months ago. Recently, I bought a 300 GB Seagate PATA drive for $110 after $50 rebate.

#228826 FS: OEM ATI Radeon 9600 Pro (64 MB)

Looking for $100 + shipping. This was pulled from a Power Mac G5 and I tried to tape the pins to make it work in a G4, but was unsuccessful. I don't have a use for it so I'd like to sell it. PM me with offers!

#227021 AT reviews ATi 9600 Pro Mac & PC Edition

Again, there are zero retail video cards (Mac or PC) that support Apple's 30" LCD that are in the $200 price range. That feature alone makes it worth the $200 for some people.
