11 bit Studios announce the availability of Frostpunk for macOS on Steam and MAS.
MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS:
OS: macOS 10.15
Processor: 2.6GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: 4GB AMD Radeon Pro 5300M, Radeon Pro 560X or better
Storage: 10 GB available space
Additional Notes: The game is supported on the following Macs:
All 16” MacBook Pros released since 2019
All 21.5” iMacs released since 2019
All 27” iMacs released since 2019
All 27″ iMac Pros released since Late 2017
All Mac Pros released since 2019

I confess I don't know this game but it looks impressive.

Nice surprise. Got this in a Humble Monthly a while back and have yet to play it.
The supported list is a bit strange. Only 2019+ MBPs and iMacs? I expect some older ones work fine and that list is just what they were able to explicitly test.

Seems to run fine on my 2018 Mac Mini - granted it's got an eGPU, using an officially supported card (Vega 56). Not surprising but it does show that an unsupported Mac can work.

Speaking of unsupported, I am still hanging on to Mojave, because it is usually more Steam-friendly. But Frostpunk, finally actually released on Mac, apparently doesn’t support Mojave! But has anyone played it successfully on that OS?
Geez, I wish this would start a trend of allegedly Mac-compatible games (e.g. Diluvion, Two Worlds II, etc.) actually getting updated as well!

The Mac GPU requirements are way higher than what's required on Windows. Apparently, porting the game to Metal was no easy task.

LOL WTF was I talking about. My main computer is a late 2015 iMac anyway. The other is a 2018 MacBook Air. So, I am out of the running, except via GeForce Now.

Works just fine on my late 2013 iMac under Windows, but crashes right to desktop in Macos 10.14. Screw this.
There they were, sitting in the van with all those dials, and the cat was dead.
