(whispers) they're just... so big...

This is the thing. They're huge. I played, and enjoyed Exile 1-3 back in the day, over the course of 5 years. I played the first Avernum remake, casually I'll add, but this took the best part of two years. And there's 5 more games in the series. Nethergate was a relatively snappy few months, playing as both Celts and Romans (good fun, that one). I haven't touched Avadon yet. But i'm glad they're out there, waiting.

I haven't actually ever played on of Jeffs games.. This is one of my most embarassing Mac gaming issues.

time passes … insert montage here …

So Nick, nine months later, what are your thoughts about the game now?

And was that 43 Gb install from disks or did you have to spend hours downloading it all?

It was a 30 Gb disk image download. Anyway, I didn't return to the game and deleted the install, thanks for asking.

I couldn't justify that much SSD space for a game I was ambivalent about (and I was not the only one, reading various reviews at the time). The various problems with performance, balance and loading time may be have been solved now, but my time is limited and I've moved onto other things.

btw, can someone with awesome power move the BG3 discussion to a new thread? (I think it's worth it, right?)
