I have lost the use of my older sennheiser headset after upgrading to MACOS 10.14.5 , can someone recommend a USB Headset for MACOS 10.14.5 under $100 or if not under $200 and where to order them from online as I,m in country Tasmania .

It is most frustrating to try to find information on the mac site / store or anywhere about this .

thanks in advance

Ruck

Have you checked Sennheiser's site to make sure there's no firmware update? There's often cases with macOS where I have to unplug and plug the set back in so the OS will load the drivers. I bought a SteelSeries Diablo III Gaming Headset a couple of years ago that sound great and work fine with macOS and Linux, but I use macOS Catalina. It's basically a version of their Siberia v3 headset, just made to promote Diablo III. Again, I've only been using it with macOS Catalina and Manjaro Linux.

Apparently some pre-USB 2.0 headphones stopped working when Apple changed some USB subsystem stuff: https://discussions..../thread/8398505

Any modern USB headset should work fine with macOS. I have never had any compatibility issues with any USB 2/3 headsets. I'm not an audiophile so I can't really recommend a good set, but I do know that you'll get better quality if you look for a good set of headphones for around $100 and then just by a USB mic or clip on mic. Many "gaming" headsets are quite bad in quality for the price (they are priced the same as high quality headphones, while not offering as high of quality).
