For your viewing pleasure:

Halo: Reach Invincible Scorpion Perfection Film

(Need Halo: Reach to view)

I had a horrendous streak of bad games lasting like 14 games long last night where EVERYTHING was going wrong on every game and I kept getting teamed with abject retards against excellent players, and I got so pissed I refused to go to bed until I had a game that at least didn't go horribly. The streak finally broke with this one. This is among the top 5 best rounds of Halo, any Halo, I have ever played. I was short three hours of sleep but it was worth it for this.  :cool2:

If you want to know what it looks like to get an Invincible medal (30-man killing spree) and the legendary-level Perfection medal (complete a Slayer match ending with a victory, 15+ kills, and never dying) in a single game, this is it.

Best views are from my perspective, Bloobert's, and Manx17's. Or, if you want to see a masochist at work, watch from the hapless Vendetta4's perspective as he tries to get to me and kill me unsuccessfully for almost the entire game.  :teehee:

Well, I don't know what the hell's going on, but I'm lagging so bad in both competitive and firefight in almost every game now it's almost unplayable. Games are about 95% frustration, 5% fun. My connection hasn't changed in the last 3 days, so I guess the Joe Blows with the 56Ks finally finished the campaign and are going online now in droves or something. Score Attack's the only mode that I can play normally all of a sudden.

Oh well, was fun for 2 weeks at least.  :glare:

its funny how games take a huge step backwards.

in Halo 1, you had control over which vehciles were on the map, how many of each type, split by teams or not.. all sorts of stuff.

there were dozens of unique game types you could craft up (invisible sniper tag, where you must kill in order, and you have a waypoint on your current target - an old favorite) that in Halo 2 - POOF! gone.

... i wonder why developers insist on *removing* choice.

No, people who were good with the Scorpion were rampaging over the other players too much (avert your eyes from here, I had nothing to do with this!!). I actually agree with them for CTF... one good tanker on the field who plays carefully and doesn't lose the Scorpion = flag uncapturable for the entire game no matter how many fancy tricks the other team pulls to try and get the flag. I've been that Scorpion goalie several times, and while it was amusing to control half the map by my lonesome, it IS unfair. It's total bullpopsnizzle for the other gametypes though like Slayer and territories, since there's MUCH more going on than just defending a base. Especially since both teams get one. Well. Got one. It's been replaced by the far less useful Covenant Wraith. Pfffffft.

It actually makes things worse because while the Scorpion was disgustingly powerful if you allowed yourself to be in its direct line of sight, it also controlled Revenant rampaging which is now FAR more out of control. That thing is more powerful than the Warthog yet faster and more maneuverable than a Ghost, so unlike the Scorpion where letting dismounts get too close = guaranteed death, the Revenant is untouchable until the team takes it down through Death by 1000 Cuts with small arms, and it can boost into and out of battle at will. The only real counter to it was the Scorpion being able to blast it off the battlefield if the Revenant drivers got too ballsy. Now? Hope your team's been camping the plasma launcher...

There's also now no counter to snipers sitting out in the open with good views of everything but out of range of other weapons except for another sniper. Previously shooting people across the battlefield from your perch would require you to be careful and keep from exposing yourself too much because the Scorpion might notice you and start firing on your position. Now any SOB can stand on the hills behind the red and blue bases on Hemorrhage (Blood Gulch remake) and hit anyone on almost the entire map. Sure, the Wraith can fire on them, but they can fire off a magazine or two and then move before the plasma ball ever gets around to falling on a target that far away.

Bungie didn't look before they leapt.

Oh, you can customize multiplayer games in any way you like in Reach. Problem is unlike Halo 1 where anyone in the world could then join your server, custom games are friends-only... about expected for consoles though. Meh. Wish Reach and ODST were on the PC, that would be beautiful.

A lot of the options were removed, though.  You cant make any of the three custom types my friends and i spent hundreds of hours playing.  (Two Oddball variants and a Sniper-tag, kill-in-order variant)

Yep, they brought the Halo 1 rocket hog back. Except this time instead of 3 centrally-mounted tubes it's got two sets of 3 side-mounted launchers that fire much faster. And then of course my passenger had two rockets of his own in his SPNKR.

Sadly, unlike the Halo 1 rocket hog which featured prominently in multiplayer, this rocket hog is relegated to campaign and firefight only except in custom games.
