Today IMG Posted a hardware review of Logitech S530 Wireless Desktop for Mac. The S530 offers a wireless keyboard, laser mouse, and a Mac styling. In addition, the keyboard features Mac-specific hot buttons and an ergonomic design. From the video review:

Logitech’s newest made-for-mac wireless keyboard, the Cordless Desktop S 530 Laser, arrived at my office a few days ago. I must say, having used it exclusively for the last few days that I am a bit disappointed.

For the average user, the Logitech Cordless Desktop S 530 Laser is a fair wireless solution, and at right around $100, you can’t beat the price. If you’re a power user or hard core gamer, you might consider a wired keyboard and mouse.

I was given one of these suckers at MacWorld and I've been using it since.  Althought the mouse broke, it started sending an interupted signal, so I couldn't click and drag anything.

Sometimes it gets stuck sending a signal and I'llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll type the same letter a few dozen times.  If I pick it up and shake it, it responds.  It also seems to go through batteries faster than my MX 500 from Logitech.

That said, it's white, it has iTunes buttons and looks damned nice.

So non-BT (RF) wireless mice have lag too?

The only thing about this review that I found a little strange was all the talk about restarting and being horrified that there is an uninstaller application. Seems to me most of the mouse utilities out there work in the same way as USB Overdrive which also requires a restart because of a .kext file. One of the readers also mentioned that there was an intel version of the software available on the site, so I wonder if that newer version responds any better. If not maybe USB overdrive or controller mate are better options? Otherwise a good review and certainly disappointed that this keyboard did not live up to expectations.

Oh something I forgot that kind of goes along these lines.

If you use their installer software (I sure don't) then you get all those extra keys such as "Play, Next Track, Previous Track, Home, Email and such".  Why did I not install the software for that?  Because then I can't map Expose to the mouse.  Whenever I havet he logitech software installed, OS X reports about 32 mouse buttons, and NONE of them seem to do anything or map to Expose.  Sorry Logitech but Expose is much more important to me than next iTunes track.

Is it possible to map Expose to a key combination, and then map the Mouse to that key combination?  I have an MX1000 mouse but have always used USB Overdrive, since LCC doesn't let me have individual app profiles.

It might be but at that point I no longer care.  It does suck that you can't do both expose and logitech's custom button.

True, it seems most of the software out there has its limitations. I don't own this wirelss set but do have an MX310 . I've always used Overdrive or Controllermate, and I am pretty sure that the Microsoft mouse software was done by the same guy who does USB overdrive. Overdrive lets me use my sixth button in expose natively and so does Controllermate. Unfortunately for controllermate if I leave it as this then for some reason I lose the ability to use this button In COD2. When I mapped F9 to the sixth button in Controllermate I was then able to use it in COD2 again. Point of all this is you have to make some decisions on which software works bet for your situation.
