They've added tessellation an tressFX support. :)

I canít select tessellation on my Mac (maybe a Nvidia thing). But the game is FAST. The performance increase is incredible.

They're currently hiring for macOS/iOS engineers.

Outside of publishing indie games, it seems they may be done with Linux AAA porting.

Holy crap, MoltenVK is already one year open source? The time flies…

Anyway, the more interesting question would be if the so far very limited feature set supported by MoltenVK has been in any way extended to match the Windows/Linux Vulkan desktop feature set. From this change log, it doesn't really look that way.

And another thing: "…so far the likes of Feral Interactive and Aspyr have been quiet on whether they plan to use MoltenVK to ease their porting burden." That is wrong, though. Feral has made very clear that they won't use MoltenVK, as they have an existing and well-working Metal development pipeline.

Regarding the  "…so far the likes of Feral Interactive and Aspyr have been quiet on whether they plan to use MoltenVK to ease their porting burden."
It's simply the fantasies of what's mainly a Linux site... As you said, Feral have been very clear about it.

On another note.. MoltenVK still sucks (looks at ESO).

Some users on Macrumors report that WOW patch 8.1 practically doubles Metal performance. Are we finally where Metal is a real replacement for OpenGL? Of course, Blizzard still says that Overwatch is technologically impossible on Mac...

The Metal renderer for WoW is now faster than DX11 and as fast as the (also new) DX12 Renderer.  It goes to show how good the API is with developers that care.
Blizzard could easily do Overwatch for macOS now, but I have a feeling the window of opportunity has passed for it to be worth it.
