Never much interested in the modern horror genre. Might be generational and a need on my part to gut out the CGI overkill. Ha. See, I'm bias. For all that, the new Us film has begun to peek my interest. Am I just "seeing" things here? Anyone have a modern horror top 3 to 5 list for me?

You'll want to see:
*Us
*Hereditary
*A Quiet Place
Suspiria
*The House That Jack Built
*Get Out (Same writer and director, as Us - It is even better)
It
Life
The Autopsy of Jane Doe
10 Cloverfield Lane
*The Conjuring
The Conjuring 2
*Don't Breathe
Lights Out
*The VVitch: A New-England Folktale
The Babadook
Oculus
*The Cabin in the Woods
La piel que habito
Sinister
*Insidious
Antichrist
Drag Me to Hell
Dogtooth
And that should keep you busy with the biggest hits from the last 10 years I think.
I've marked the best (IMHO) with a star.

Damn. That will certainly do it. And, who better to trust than you, fine Sir. Thanks, brother!

A few of those are more SF than horror, but good list. I'd add It Follows to that list. I was going to add Del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth and The Orphanage, but they are over ten years old. Damn I'm old.
And if you liked Us, watch the Twilight Zone episode Jordan Peele was inspired by. It's called "Mirror Image" and it's great.
