I think they were asking if a forum member personally has tried it.

The Enhanced version runs only with Ray Tracing so forget the Mac port:

Well, I was thinking of Apple Silicon not Intel Macs and understand your enthusiasm but only Mac Pros with Radeon 6000 series will be able to take advantage of ray tracing and none of the other Macs and most Mac Pro owners don't game. That's a too small market share for the developers to port the enhanced version to Mac.

11.3? I believe support for AMD 6800/6900 GPUs is coming with 11.4 (Currently in Beta).

Yes, youíre probably right. The number of macs that can play the game well is already very small as it is (thatís why I was so surprised the port happened at all.)

But in terms of Apple Silicon, we have yet to see what the non-lowend graphics will look like. Iíll be surprised if ray tracing isnít a part of it.

Man I wish they would implement eGPUs for Apple Silicon Macs - would've already bought an M1 MBP if so :(

If they would release NATIVE ARM64 AAA-Titles we don't need eGPU's/dedicated gfx-cards for 1080p high details.

Will this (Enhanced Edition) be available on Linux/Mac
No, this version needs Windows to run. Players on Mac can play the PC version with Ray Tracing via GeForce NOW.

I wonder what hoops they'd have to jump through to get Ray Tracing in the macOS version. Even then only the RX6xxx series cards support ray tracing and it'd be the only title I can think of for macOS that has ray tracing, assuming they're using Vulkan for the macOS version. Are they using Metal? I'm pretty sure that supports ray tracing.

Does Metal support DLSS? (Or whatever AMD is calling it). Ray tracing isnít really feasible without it.

If Apple includes a DLSS-equivalent feature in their next-gen GPUs, it would really help with performance. DLSS is magic.

Free $10 coupon on Epic until June 17 for games costing $14.99 or more. For example Metro Exodus Gold Edition (including DLCs and expansion pass) is on sale and with coupon only $12. Standard Edition only ca $6.

Is it better to buy it on Steam or Epic? Any differences or is the performance the same? Does Epic has a framerate counter like Steam overlay?

Epic has no FPS counter AFAIK but you could always add it as a non-Steam game. You can get the Steam version on Humble Monthly for  $12. Standard version but you get other games as well. Performance should be the same.

I've got it on Steam with a Humble Bundle offer. Set it to 1080p Ultra and enabled vsync, it seems to run well enough on Big Sur a Radeon W5700.

I just started playing it the other day and was shocked at a) how good it looks, and b) how well it runs. I haven't figured out how to turn on the FPS counter or benchmark it. But on my 2018 13" MBP with Vega 56 eGPU it is running at 1440p Ultra very smoothly (likely 40 FPS, but not sure exactly)

Thanks, I saw the offer but not worth it. As you say it's only the base game and only with one year subscription. So it's $127.32 for the standard game on Humble vs. $12 for Gold Edition on Epic. I don't need other games. :)

I read about adding non steam games to Steam but have you actually tried it? Does the counter works on Epic games?

No, you get it with the monthly subscription too, and you get the enhanced edition too (but it's only for Windows at the moment)
