Somehow I wouldn't count on it.

My top five Mac games are Alpha Centauri, Riven, Baldur's Gate II, Ferazel's Wand, and Warcraft III. I think I'm old.

You're not that old: your favorites could be Dark Castle, Shufflepuck Cafe, Stellar 7 or Rise of the Dragon. :D

Hopefully we'll get some fix for the registration renewal problem, from the community if not from Ambrosia.

From the community the fix would be, basically, a crack. I'm sure it has been created a long time ago already.

Here are some of the problems I'm having with HL2:
- not immersive or scary, because the texture res and polygon counts are low. For example head-crabs should be creepy and terrifying but they just look goofy and annoying.

I just completed (again, for achievements) Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Update. The latter enhances lightning and has a commentary mode. One of the commentaries is that monsters are by design not meant to be scary, but rather gross and ugly.

Freedom Force
Summoner

I believe both were turn-based during combat so they'd be well suited to a touch interface. They are probably both too obscure now for anyone to really consider porting them, but I'D buy them. ;-)

Actually Freedom Force is "real time with pause" and Summoner is 100% real time (action RPG).
