The pictures on eBay do indeed show the text "RAGE Campaign Edition requires an online connection for activation." Such a letdown. What a disappointment. When you buy a game you should always be able to just install and play it, instead of developers and publishers having control over the game you've bought.

It's not just activation. Nowadays many games (especially AAA titles) are way larger than what can fit on a single DVD; Rage for instance is more than 23 GB. When you buy the retail version on DVD, you get a Steam key (usually) and a part of the game can be preloaded on the disc, so you have less to download. Granted, they could put multiple DVDs, but that's not the way it works nowadays...

Microsoft's is actually a really good deal. Play $2 and get access to brand new games like Gears 5 and The Outer Worlds. At that price I wouldn't mind not owning since I never replay games. I'd strongly consider it if I didn't have a backlog that reached the moon.

$2 where? Here it's only for two months, then that becomes 15 per month, don't get fooled by marketing tricks. The PC only game pass will be $10 a month once out of beta.

After the free trial I will cancel... because I can honestly not see why I would pay $15/mo for *just* ubisoft games.... like... wat.

I find game subscriptions to be even worse than the Epic store, and that's no small feat. Ubisoft, Microsoft, Origin subscriptions: no way!

Do you know you can choose what kind of emails you get from them? Good, then I might be able to get the Borderlands one.

FWIW, you can still find keys for Tales from the Borderlands on grey market sites at reasonable prices (from 8 €).
