Well then... it's been a couple years when I have been around here. Again, I'm sorry if this topic is in the wrong place. This topic is kind of related to this one:

http://www.insidemac...opic=48025&st=0

While I more-or-less cleared the haze in my nostalgic amnesia for games I played, one still seems to elude me.

Here goes!

From what I do recall, the game was in a software suite book full of CDs, with a black front cover, I believe. I also swear it had a demo disc or demo discs in the book, along with other software. This book came with a PowerPC Mac my brother had years ago, either a 5000 or 6000 series Performa towers.

The game has some flying car in a Cyberpunk-like future in a dark alleyway. And I believe all were on demo discs at the time I played them. It's close to MegaRace in looks, and thinking more on it, this sleek looking car landed at night near an alleyway next to some tall buildings. I think the door opens and you either get out or get in. But I don't remember it being a racing game. It isn't Angel Devoid, but that game definitely matches the sort of style of game I'm looking for. Either the style of the car looked a lot like the police cars in that game, or maybe something similar to like a Tron motorcycle. It's definitely not Descent 1,  Burn Cycle, The Ripper, Johnny Mnemonic, and System Shock 1 either. Thinking back, I think the character enters the alleyway and maybe various areas, kind of like MYST.

Wow, good guess.

I played it a lot as a kid. The disk is still kicking around here somewhere.

Yeah I spent a (relative) fortune on an external CD-ROM when it was released. Good times!

I think this is it, though I don't know if I remember all of these characters. Was this on a demo disk for old Macs?

It could also be Lunicus or Jump Raven, both of which were made by Cyberflix. The timing matches better for these — they're from around 93/94, so right around the time PowerPC Macs started emerging, whereas Spaceship Warlock was 1991.

I think it's Spaceship Warlock, but my memory playing it is very fuzzy.  But for some reason the aliens look familiar to me. However, with the other games here, I might have to check them out as well.

Spaceship Warlock was also my first guess when reading the description. It did indeed come bundled with several machines, Performa models included.

Funny enough, this game seem to be asked about quite often - It really must have done an impression on most back then - But it was also quite impressively made. Sad it was so short, and ended just when the game started to show purpose!
"They're everywhere!" -And now, time for some Legend of Zelda.

It may have been on a demo disk. I had a 575 and we got it in some sort of pack of games that also came with The Labyrinth of Time (I also played this a lot).

Interesting. A shame Apple is no longer into promoting games for their computers anymore. I had no idea the game was so popular.

To be far, Apple doesn't seem to be into promoting their computers much at all anymore. :P

You can watch the beginning of Spaceship Warlock and Jump Raven on YouTube-- that might help you remember. The alley sounds more like Warlock, but I don't think the game shows you the car landing. That sounds more like Jump Raven. (Maybe you are remembering parts of both?)
